April 5, 2014 By Caressa Brown Ask anyone you never know me and they’ll tell you, I’m not quickly intimidated or at a loss for words but pretty first time that we met Designer Erika Berthy designer of Gowns by Beartie, To be honest I searched with success for myself being one and the other.
Long story shorter we somehow managed to get my words out mouth to introduce myself to her without sounding like a rambling buffoon and to my surprise, she was equally excited about meeting me and said that she had been following the Dayton Emerging Fashion Incubator LLC from the initial stage and rest as they say is history!!
After all we are always still pretty newest and we have plenty of work to do to prove that Fashion has a home here in Dayton, I’m almost sure I had been a fan of her work for some amount of time given her amount of talent they wasn’t rather almost ready to reach out to her to see if she would’ve been interested in showcasing at a event, We were attending a committee meeting for Dayton Opera Guild.

For sure we couldn’t merely have Erika’s runway showcase set to music…we needed a Story Teller or a Spoken Word Artist to look for to miss her showcase that could be set to whimsical and rapid fire lyrics of Jay Martinez who has written custom poetry for every piece that Erika should be showcasing including Contained Energy, Delicate Balance, Discovery, Inner Passion, and Transient Layers!!
