I am confident that she will prevail over her cancer, as she has excelled in every aspect of her health. She has probably been a real inspiration to us all. She ain’t mostly beautiful on outside but was always a real beauty inside. I first met Marty when they was teaching at Orange Grove Center in 70s and 80s. She did her better, the interview portion was a little tricky. However, she didn’t pretty make the cut, audience and judges admired her. Now please pay attention. She was better prepared, and the 1984 Miss Chattanooga pageant happened to be an unforgettable night for us all, with all of that pageant experience under her belt. Her baton routine was flawless, and she looked fabulous in her evening gown and swimsuit, when she competed in her first Miss Chattanooga pageant in 1982. It’s an interesting fact that the next 3 years, she tried once again. Basically, the judges will choose a green lady to compete for Miss Tennessee who will hear, and speak obviously.

All she saw was, nearly any eye was on her, and those eyes were shedding tears of joy. Everyone, those who were supporting various contestants rose to their feet and cheered. Simply think for a moment. She could not hear my voice! That said, I had not heard this particular reaction. She looked at me as if to say, Did you say my name? Remember, that’s only one moment they remember with such clarity and joy. Whenever shaking my head YES, I looked back. However, I had seen plenty of good winners over years, and should see quite a few more. That’s where it starts getting intriguing.
