They flouted alienated toplayers, traditions or lost fans allegiance. The question is. In 1954, after years of fiscal struggle, Hall of Fame manager Connie Mack was forced to sell his Philadelphia Athletics to a Chicago real estate Arnold Johnson, investor or a close business associate of Del Webb and Dan Topping, 1 real estate investors who had acquired NYC Yankees from Jacob Ruppert estate.
